G5: OPR/HPR Leak

If your marker is leaking from the HPR. Check the items below. Reference page 7 of the manual as needed.

Issue:
Leaking from the OPR/HPR:
  • This is more than likely due to a damaged o-ring. Take note of where the leak is coming from, then remove the Operating Pressure Regulator (aka OPR or HPR) by unscrewing it (counterclockwise) from the body of your marker. Next, separate the cap and body using the strength from your Hulk like hands or with the help of a strap wrench. Once separated, remove the regulator piston and spring. Using an allen key on each side (1/4" and 7/32") of the reg body, turn counterclockwise to remove the piston seal from inside of the body of the regulator. The adjustment screw can now be removed using a 1/8" allen key; turn clockwise then push the adjustment screw through to the other side to remove it. Once disassembled, check the following:

Reg Cap Leak (Top Part that Screws Into the Body):
  • If the leak is coming from the top portion of the reg, try replacing the o-rings on the cap (listed below). Lube with Dow33 (or other recommended lube).

    • #89 - Reg Cap o-ring (top/small): 13mm ID x 2mm CS (Black)

    • #78 - Reg Cap o-ring (top/large): 20.35mm ID x 1.78mm CS

    • #78 - Reg Cap o-ring (bottom threads/large): 20.35mm ID x 1.78mm CS

      • Note: This o-ring is shown in the diagram between the reg body and the adjustment screw in the manual.

Leaking from Tiny Hole in Reg Cap (Top Section):
  • If the air leak is coming from the tiny hole in the reg cap, start by replacing the piston o-ring (#80 in the diagram above, piston is #81) and the internal piston seal o-ring (#84 in the diagram above, piston seal is #83). Before reassembling, be sure to inspect the outer Piston Seal o-ring for damage and replace it if needed. Lube all o-rings with Dow33 (or other recommended lube).

    • #80 - Piston o-ring: 10.82mm ID x 1.78mm CS

    • #84 - Piston Seal o-ring (Internal): 5.29mm ID x 1.78mm CS

    • #80 - Piston Seal o-ring (external): 10.82mm ID x 1.78mm CS

Leaking from Bottom of Reg:
  • If the leak is coming from the bottom of the reg, remove the adjustment screw by turning it clockwise and pushing it through to the other side. Once removed, replace the adjustment screw o-ring (#73 on the diagram above, adjustment screw is #85) and lube with Dow33 (or other recommended lube).

    • #73 - Adjustment Screw o-ring: 3.69mm ID x 1.78mm CS
