Etek 5: Maintenance

Hashtag (#) indicates the ID/number from the diagram in the manual, if applicable. 

Skipping this maintenance will cause your gun to break down and get you lit up like a Christmas tree.

Overview:
Best Lubes for your Etek 5:
  • Planet eclipse gun oil is recommended for the bolt and rammer only. Do not apply eclipse grease to these areas as they will cause poor performance

  • Planet eclipse grease is recommended for the LPR, HPR & solenoid spool only

Before Playing:
  • Clean your barrel & wipe down the outside of your marker

  • Attach your barrel blocking device

  • Remove the bolt and inspect the o-rings for damage and replace if needed. Apply a drop of Eclipse gun oil to each of the o-rings

    • Bolt o-ring: 012 NBR70

  • Install a fresh battery

  • Unscrew your On/Off (OOPS) clockwise all the way, attach your air tank, then turn the OOPS counter-clockwise to engage the air system

  • Power on your marker & chrono if needed

Between Games:
  • Clean your barrel using a clean swab or rag

  • Wipe down the outside of your marker. Do not use household cleaners or rinse off marker with water

  • Clean your barrel & wipe down the outside of your marker

  • Bolt: Remove the bolt and inspect the o-rings for damage and replace if needed. Apply a drop of Eclipse gun oil to each of the o-rings

    • Bolt o-ring: 012 NBR70 (x2)

After 1-2 Cases of Paint (2k-4k):
After 2-4 Cases of Paint (4k-8k):
  • Repeat the items above

  • Rammer: With the bolt out, remove the ram cap using a 3/16" hex key and pop out the rammer. Wipe it down & inspect the o-rings for damage & replace if needed. Apply a small amount of Eclipse gun oil to each of the o-rings before reinstalling. Note: Use an hex key from the bolt pin entry point to push out the rammer if needed

    • Rammer Shaft (front): 010 NBR70

    • Rammer Shaft (bumper): 010 NBR70

    • Rammer Shaft (middle): 011 NBR70

    • Rammer Shaft (back): 010 NBR70

    • Rammer Cap: 013 NBR70

Etek 5 Maintenance:
  • Repeat the items above

  • SL4/HPR: Remove & disassemble your High Pressure Regulator (aka HPR/SL4 Inline Reg) & wipe down the components. Inspect the o-rings for damage & replace if needed. Apply a small amount of Eclipse grease to each of the o-rings before reinstalling

    • Piston o-ring: 14x2 NBR70

    • Adjuster Top (External): 011 NBR70

    • Adjuster Top (Internal): 008 NBR70

    • Adjuster Bottom: 011 NBR70

    • Reg Body - Swivel: 015 NBR70

    • Reg Body Mount (Marker Frame): 017 NBR70

After 10 Cases of Paint (1 Month):
After 20 Cases of Paint (2 Months):
  • Repeat the items above.

  • LPR: Remove your Low Pressure Regulator from the front of your marker & wipe down the components. Inspect the o-rings for damage and replace if needed. Apply a small amount of Eclipse grease to each of the o-rings before reinstalling. Note: You will first need to remove your SL4/HPR reg & tuning fork

    • Low Pressure Reg:

      • LPR Piston: 013 NBR70

      • LPR Body (External): 013 NBR70

      • LPR Body (Internal): 008 NBR70

      • Adjuster Screw: 008 NBR70

    • LPR Cap/Spring:

      • LPR Cap/Spring (adjuster screw side): 7x1 NBR70

      • LPR Cap/Spring: 013 NBR70

  • Valve Assembly: With the LPR removed, pop out the valve assembly, wipe down the components and inspect the valve plug & o-rings for damage. Apply a small amount of Eclipse grease to each of the o-rings before reinstalling. Note: The valve plug is the white delrin piece on the front of the valve guide that looks like a plug (#11 in the manual)

    • Valve Guide (Cap): 013 NBR70
