Ego LV1.6: Shooting Issue

Marker will not fire or has a problem firing. This assumes your gun is not currently leaking. Check the items below in the order shown. Reference the manual if needed.

Issue:
Aired Up with No Leaks & Won't Fire:
  • Battery: Make sure you start with a brand new battery in your gun as an old one will cause issues

  • ASA/POPS: Check that the POPS knob is fully twisted & the pin is making contact with your air tank

  • Connectors: Check that all connectors going to the main board are properly seated (breech & solenoid)

  • Solenoid Flow Restrictors (SFR): Ensure that both SFR's are set to their default of 12 o'clock

  • Breech Sensor (BS): Check screen for breech sensor icon (Looks like an eyeball if a paintball is detected)

  • Trigger: Power on your marker & check the status of the Trigger Detection Indicator (TDI) on your run screen while testing the trigger (Ref page 11). Change between OPTO Sensor & Microswitch & verify their functionality

  • Default Pressures

    • LPR: Using a 1/8 hex key, turn the adjuster screw 1/2 turn counter-clockwise from it’s fully screwed-in position

    • SL4 Inline Reg (HPR): Using a 1/8 hex key, turn the velocity adjuster screw 5 complete turns clockwise from it’s fully screwed-out position

  • Dwell: Check your dwell and try resetting it back to the factory default setting of 11.5ms.

  • Solenoid: If the above do not fix your issue, your solenoid may need to be replaced. Start by removing your trigger frame and check the condition of the hose going into the solenoid. If it's fine, try replacing the solenoid itself

Marker Fires with Low First Shot:
  • Dwell: Check your dwell and try resetting back to the factory default setting of 11.5ms

  • Set Default Pressures

    • LPR: Using a 1/8 hex key, turn the adjuster screw 1/2 turn counter-clockwise from it’s fully screwed-in position

    • SL4 Inline Reg (HPR): Using a 1/8 hex key, turn the velocity adjuster screw 5 complete turns clockwise from it’s fully screwed-out position

  • FSD Comp:

    • Check the setting for FSD Comp and start by setting it to its default of 2ms.

    • If you continue to have issues, try increasing by increments of 0.1ms

      • About: “First shot drop off” is a reduction in velocity of the first shot fired after an extended period of not firing and is caused by the stiction between dynamic o-rings and the surfaces that they are in contact with. In order to compensate for first shot drop-off this parameter can be set to add extra time to the DWELL parameter for the first shot

Low Rate of Fire:
  • Loader:

    • Check your loader to confirm the batteries are good & it's set appropriately

  • Solenoid Flow Restrictors (SFR):

    • Remove your grips to access the 2 SFR dials (front and rear)

    • Increase the setting of the rear SFR one position at a time & test fire your marker. Repeat as needed

      • Note: The default position is 12 o'clock (pointing straight up)

Marker is Breaking Paint:
  • Paint: Make sure you're using good quality paintballs & that you have a good paint to barrel match

  • Breach: Inspect the breach to confirm there isn't any debris that would cause you to break paint

  • Breech Sensors (BS): Check the BS and make sure they are on, installed correctly (red receiver is on the right-hand side of the breech), and clean

  • Detents: Check your detents for excessive wear/damage. Replace if needed

  • Bolt: Remove your bolt & wipe it down. Next confirm the Bolt Tip is seated correctly & undamaged. Apply a drop of Eclipse Oil before reinserting

  • Dwell: Check your dwell and try resetting back to the factory default of 11.5ms

  • LRP/HPR Pressures: Chrono your marker & confirm you're getting a consistent velocity. If not, adjust your LPR & HPR Regs as needed. Alternatively, you can set them to their default.

Two or More Balls Loaded in Breach:
  • Detents:

    • Check your detents for excessive wear/damage. Replace if needed

  • Loader:

    • Check the feed setting on your loader to confirm it's not set too high
