Ego LV1.6: Velocity Issue

Marker has inconsistent velocity or you're not able to adjust the pressure. Check the items below. Reference the manual as needed

Issue:
Inconsistent Velocity:
  • Paint: Make sure you're using good quality paintballs & that you have a good paint to barrel match

  • Dwell: Check your dwell and try resetting back to the factory default setting of 11.5ms

  • Pressures: Verify your using a quality air source and adjust your LPR & HPR Regs to their default values

    • LPR: Using a 1/8 hex key, turn the adjuster screw 1/2 turn counter-clockwise from it’s fully screwed-in position

    • SL4 Inline Reg (HPR): Using a 1/8 hex key, turn the velocity adjuster screw 5 complete turns clockwise from it’s fully screwed-out position

  • Solenoid Flow Restrictors (SFR):

    • Remove your grips to access the 2 SFR dials (front and rear)

    • Increase the setting of the front SFR one position at a time & test fire your marker. Repeat as needed

    • Note: The default position is 12 o'clock (pointing straight up)

  • SL4 Inline Reg (HPR): Your reg may be supercharging. To resolve this issue, disassemble, clean your reg, & replace the regulator seal. Reference the diagram, video, & steps below as needed.

    • Remove the SL4 Inline regulator by first unscrewing the AT pipe then removing it from the reg body.

    • Remove the bottom portion of the grip cover & unscrew the bottom cap, which should also allow you to pull off the swivel

    • Next, pull down firmly on the bottom portion of the grip to remove it, which will also require a squeeze halfway down to get it past the reg

    • Before unscrewing the reg, wipe it down to help gripping it, then unscrew from the body

    • Using a 1/8 inch hex key, turn the adjuster all the way in (clockwise) & push down once passed the threads, which will remove the guts of the reg

    • Replace the Regulator seal

    • Inspect the remaining o-rings & replace as needed

    • Be sure to use a small amount of Eclipse grease when lubing o-rings before re-assembling

    • All o-rings NBR70 unless otherwise stated

      • Piston o-ring:  14x2

      • Adjuster Top (external): 011

      • Adjust Top (Internal): 008

      • Adjuster Bottom: 011

      • Reg Body Swivel: 015 (x2) NBR60

      • AT Pipe Nut: 007

      • AT Pipe: 007 (x2)

Low Inconsistent Velocity:
  • Default Pressures: Verify your using a quality air source and adjust your LPR & HPR Regs to their default values

    • Increase the setting of the rear SFR one position at a time & test fire your marker. Repeat as needed

      • Note: The default position is 12 o'clock (pointing straight up)

High Velocity on 1st Shot:
  • FSD Comp:

    • Try increasing the parameter for FSD Comp in increments of 0.1ms

    • Note, the default parameter is 2ms

      • About: “First shot drop off” is a reduction in velocity of the first shot fired after an extended period of not firing and is caused by the stiction between dynamic o-rings and the surfaces that they are in contact with. In order to compensate for first shot drop-off this parameter can be set to add extra time to the DWELL parameter for the first shot

  • Regulators: Disassemble, clean, and inspect your LPR & SL4 Inline regs. Pay close attention to the piston o-ring on both regs as well as the internal o-ring that connects with the piston stem. Reference the maintenance page if needed

  • Pressures: Try setting both regulators to their default

    • LPR: Using a 1/8 hex key, turn the adjuster screw 1/2 turn counter-clockwise from it’s fully screwed-in position

    • SL4 Inline Reg (HPR): Using a 1/8 hex key, turn the velocity adjuster screw 5 complete turns clockwise from it’s fully screwed-out position

  • Dwell: Check your dwell and try resetting back to the factory default setting of 11.5ms

  • SL4 Inline Reg (HPR): If you've reached this step, disassemble, clean & re-lube your inline reg making sure to also replace the Regulator Seal. Reference the steps below. Diagram & video are included above.

  • LPR Reg: If you've reached this step, disassemble, clean & re-lube your LPR making sure to also replace the Regulator Seal. Reference the diagram, video, & steps below as needed.

    • Remove the SL4 Inline regulator then the tuning fork

    • You should now be able to remove the LPR by pulling it out along with the spring & Piston

    • Wipe down the components & check the internal LPR body o-ring & the reg seat (located inside the LPR body). Apply a small amount of Eclipse grease to each of the o-rings before reinstalling. LPR o-ring sizes are included below

      • Piston: 013

      • Body (External): 013

      • Body (Internal): 008

      • Adjuster Screw: 007

      • Cap: 013

Drop-off when firing Multiple Shots:
  • Battery: Make sure you start with a brand new battery in your gun as an old one will cause issues

  • Air: Check your air tank & confirm it has enough air. If possible, try another tank

  • SL3 Inline Reg: Disassemble, clean, & lubricate your inline regulator (Eclipse grease only). For details on disassembly, check out the Ego11 Maintenance page.

  • Pressures: Chrono your marker & confirm you're getting a consistent velocity. If not, adjust your LPR & HPR Regs as needed. Alternatively, you can set them to their default, as shown below.

    • LPR: Start by setting your LPR output pressure to it's factory default setting

      • Using a 1/8 inch hex key, set the LPR adjuster screw to default by turning the adjuster screw outwards (counter-clockwise) until it's flush (in-line) with the front-most part of the LPR cap. Next, turn the adjuster screw 2 full turns inward (clockwise)

    • SL3 Inline Reg (HPR): Using a 1/8 inch hex key, turn the adjuster screw outward (counter-clockwise) to it's max out position. Next, turn the adjuster screw inward (clockwise) 4 1/2 turns
